School Relationship Violence Impact Estimate

Select a county, school, and model to view Project REAL's 2026-27 senior-enrollment projection and the corresponding statistical relationship-violence estimate.

About the models: Conservative model projects 25% women and 14.3% men will experience relationship violence at least once during their lives. Updated model projects 28.1% among women and 21.2% among men.

Prevention reach: Project REAL projects that 75% of women and 75% of men - among the subset of those students projected to experience relationship violence during their lives without intervention - will likely avoid dangerous relationships due to the workshops intervention. That impact-rate of 75% was established over 5 years, with more than 6,000 voluntary student survey submissions. Those surveys show 75% of students (evenly, across all genders) choose to read the 17 pages of printed academic material on relationship violence they receive during the workshop. While longitudinal data is not currently available, Project REAL uses that impact rate as a projection of lifetime risk-reduction impact.

Enrollment: The 2026-27 senior-enrollment projections are based on NCES/ELSI historical school-level enrollment data through 2024-25. We intentionally used methods designed to avoid overstating enrollment and expects many of the resulting projections to be lower than actual senior-class sizes. To dig into those methods and see the formulas we used to arrive at our projections, simply download the workbook (which has easily-parsed excel formulas to review) or download our full report from the main project page.
